Artist: Karin Dreijer Andersson

I recently discovered an amazing voice from Sweden. It wasn't her voice that attracted me to her though. It was photos of her. I quickly realized she wasn't a model, but a singer... an artist in fact. Not all singers are artists in my opinion. I won't go into detail with my reasons, but the artist I am speaking of is Karin Dreijer Andersson. Funny, we both share the same name, which is not all that surprising since I was named after a Swedish woman named Karin.

So how did she catch my attention exactly? Well, take a look at the photos below. She has been compared to Lady Gaga, although I would say there is no comparison because they are in two completely different genres. Actually Karin is a part of two genres herself and the two bands she is in, Fever Ray and The Knife are incomparable. Anyway, she likes to be unique in her image and therefore Lady Gaga comes in. I love her uniqueness and style and that is what drew me in. Her song "The Wolf" with Fever Ray was the main song for the movie, "Red Riding Hood". Click here to listen.

Terry Richardson Shoots Lady Gaga for Harper's Bazaar - May 2011

Lady Gaga will be featured on the cover of Harper's Bazaar May 2011 issue, which hits newsstands April 26th. Donning Thierry Mugler, Alexander McQueen, Versace, Tex Saverio and Dior for the spread, which was shot by American Fashion Photographer Terry Richardson. The photos are amazing, the outfits are couture at it's finest and Gaga looks stunning. She knows how to work the camera and how to differentiate herself from the rest with the recent addition of bones to her face and shoulders.

Her interview goes into detail about these bones, her hit "Born this Way" along with the video and her soon-to-be released album, plastic surgery rumours, the late Alexander McQueen and Hollywood.
Gaga compares her emotions towards Hollywood and its plastic culture to doing Kegel exercises. Only Gaga could craft such a comparison and have it make sense, saying, “I had all these No. 1 records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture? I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately … I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars.”

You can read the first part of the interview here and purchase the magazine on April 26th:

Miu Miu Lace-Up Neon Cut-out Heels

I know neon is "in" right now and I know Miu Miu has some different designs and styles, but seriously?? These shoes are a combination of old world meets new world. There is a Victorian feel to them, but the cut-out and the neon is modern. I don't know what to think of these. I would need to try them on in order to really see how I feel. From looking, I am not too intrigued, but I think that if someone were wearing the right outfit, then these shoes might just look fab. I'm willing to give new concepts a chance.

Georgina Goodman Spring/Summer 2011 Shoes

The Spring/Summer 2011 Georgina Goodman shoe collection is on par with what you would expect from her. She incorporates her signature stripes as well as the word 'LOVE' that have been featured on her shoes in the past. There are a few different styles going on depending on what you prefer, but they are awesome designs and I would definitely rock some of them. (The last two rows are my least favourite)

If you want to be a bit more feminine while still grabbing the eyes of everyone, then one of Cesare Paciotti`s designs will surely do the trick. There is something in this collection for every type of woman and from any age group.
Bold colours, lace, funky heels and a whole lotta diva are featured here. There is not a common theme to these, it seems to be all over the place.

Ruthie Davis Spring/Summer 2011 Shoes

Ruthie Davis designs shoes for women like me. I like to make a statement and stand out when I`m out. I like to be different from the rest of the crowd and I want other women to be wondering who I am wearing and where it came from. Wearing one of these bold designs will definitely make you get noticed in a crowd. There`s spikes, neon colours, straps and glitter. Personally, I love the colours. It`s all about colour for Spring!
